Connection President, Deborah Taylor-King

Dr. King is a lifelong member of Grant AME Worship Center in Austin and became involved with the WMS at an early age as a member of its Young People’s Division (YPD). As an adult, she has served the WMS as Local President, Area Chairperson, Conference and District 1st VP, District President, Connectional Research and Status of Black Women, Connectional 1st VP and now President. She has traveled extensively throughout the AMEC Connection, bonding with sisters of the African Diaspora.

Dr. King has over 30 years of management expertise acquired in her position as an Area Manager at AT&T/SBC in Austin, Corpus Christi and San Antonio. She has served as First Vice President (VP) for Professional Women of Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and as a loaned executive for the United Way, Inc. She was First Vice Chair for the Austin Area Urban League and a board member for Texas CASA. Currently, she is a board member and Vice President of the Austin Rosewood Community Development Corporation. She is a proud member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She is recipient of numerous awards for her civic, community and religious service. 2nd Episcopal District Supervisor, Arelis B. Davis

Episcopal Supervisor Arelis Beevers Davis serves the Second Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church with her spouse Bishop James L. Davis, the Presiding Prelate of the area serving the Baltimore, Washington, Virginia, North Carolina and Western North Carolina Conferences.

​As Episcopal Supervisor she is charged with preparing missionaries for their role in the church, counseling and serving as a role model to minister’s spouses. Her passion includes establishing the “Hope and Healing” Ministry, which focuses on health awareness, breast cancer awareness and other women’s health issues. She plans to effectively minister to those who are impacted by health issues that plague our community, especially HIV/AIDS. To read more, please visit here.


2nd Episcopal District President, Selerya Moore

Sis. Selerya is currently a member of Turner Memorial AMEC in Hyattsville, MD and is a fourth generation member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. In addition to being President of the Johanna Morris Women’s Missionary Society, Sister Selerya serves at Turner Memorial as a Steward, Class Leader, Director of Lay Activities, Usher, and a coordinator and instructor for the New Members’/Disciples’ classes. She also serves as a member of the Connectional WMS Commission on Mission Education and Interpretation. Sister Selerya served as the Second Episcopal District 2nd Vice President and YPD Director; YPD Director of the Washington Conference Branch, and Turner Memorial; a Washington Conference Handy-Simmons Scholarship Chair; and Celeste W.
